Research Lines
Development of Agroindustrial Processes
The main objective of this line is to train the student to the evaluation, optimization, integration and development of agroindustrial processes, based on the interdisciplinary knowledge. This research line embraces a group of activities that take into account, beyond the inherent questions of the agroindustrial processes, the market demands and its economic and technological constraints. For this task, we propose the conduction of studies, analyses and proposal of process improvements, making use of computational tools for simulation and optimization, as well as experimental approaches in laboratory, bench and pilot plant scales.
Dynamics of Agroindustrial Processes
The main objective of this line is to train the student to understand and analyze the dynamics of agroindustrial systems, from an interdisciplinary standpoint. This research line embraces a group of studies and researches that take into account the complexity of the socioeconomic, institutional and environmental dimensions, as well as the markets and production chains that are part of these systems. For this, we proposed to study management and production strategies, innovation management, productivity gain and the search for innovative technological applications, besides suggesting possibilities of regional development.
